The Master CMB requires additional point accumulation and educational requirements, as well as active participation within the CMB Society.

Candidate Profile
- Professional with a minimum of seven years experience in the real estate finance industry.
- Employee of an MBA member company or member of a state Mortgage Banking association.
- All candidates must hold the Residential or Commercial CMB for two years before they are eligible to apply for the Master CMB.

1. Enroll in the Master CMB program. You can enroll online, via mail, or fax. Once you enroll, you are a candidate.

2. Acquire 200 CMB Points. You must acquire 200 total CMB points from the following areas (150 points earned during the Residential or Commercial CMB can be applied to the 200 point total):
- Professional experience (Minimum: 35 points/Maximum: 85 points)
- Industry participation (Minimum: 35 points/Maximum: 85 points)
- Education background (Minimum: 35 points/Maximum: 85 points)
- Serve on two CMB oral exam panels in the two years since obtaining the Residential or Commercial CMB subsequent to enrollment into the Master CMB program
- Serve as a CMB sponsor for two CMB Residential or Commercial candidates in the two years since obtaining the Residential or Commercial CMB subsequent to enrollment into the Master CMB program

3. Pass the exam. Complete a comprehensive exam to assess your working knowledge of the opposing areas of expertise. You will need to register for the exam.

4. Complete the oral exam. Pass a half-hour oral exam given by a Master CMB designee panel at MBA Headquarters in Washington DC.
5. Be Recognized. All Master CMB graduates will be recognized at the Opening General Session at both conventions. Your photograph will be displayed and you will be asked to stand as your peers congratulate you on your success!
6. Complete continuing education. To remain in active status, Master CMB designees must meet continuing education requirements. Visit the CMB Points page to learn more about how to meet CMB continuing education requirements.
