CMB Points
CMB Points - Getting to 150

All CMB candidates must accumulate 150 points from the following three categories: Professional Experience, Documented Education, and Industry Participation. Once we have your resume and/or transcript update form, we can evaluate your current point status and provide you with a personalized plan to help you complete this step of the program.

Below is a list of the three point categories and the activities/events that will earn points in those categories. You don’t have to worry about tracking these – the CampusMBA Professional Development Transcript will assist you in monitoring your progress through the program. We offer your transcript online to allow you to track your own progress—just log in to CampusMBA and click the "Transcript" tab on the top navigation menu.

CMB Continuing Education

The Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) designation represents one’s knowledge, experience and participation within the real estate finance industry. Due to the evolving nature of our business environment, keeping abreast of current industry issues as well as maintaining one’s knowledge is critical to uphold the effective representation of the CMB designation to the industry as well as the general public.

To maintain active status, once obtaining the CMB (Residential, Commercial or Master), all designees must complete five points of qualified continuing education activities every two years. These activities can be derived from CampusMBA coursework, convention or conference participation, committee participation or other activities that reflect one’s active involvement in the industry.

The following will be recognized as qualified continuing education activities.

  • MBA Conventions/Conferences (1 point for each day of attendance)
  • State or Local Convention/Conference (1 point for each day of attendance)
  • CampusMBA Distance Learning Courses (5 points per course)
  • MBA Committee Participation (5 points per year)
  • State or Local Committee Participation (5 points per year)
  • Sponsor CMB Candidate (1 point per candidate)
  • Serve on a CMB oral exam team (1 point per day)
  • Volunteer for Habitat for Humanity (1 point per day)
  • Coursework required to maintain your license (5 points for every 15 hours)
