This introductory course emphasizes the interrelated roles of the departments within a residential mortgage banking firm and the relationships of the various institutions and agencies through the real estate finance industry. This course provides a foundation in loan production, underwriting, secondary marketing, warehousing, and servicing. It also presents an overview of associated disciplines essential to a complete understanding of mortgage banking, including loss mitigation, predatory lending, capital markets, real estate law and regulation, and real estate mathematics.
Course I begins with breakfast and registration on Monday morning at 7:00 a.m. Classes are held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Tuesday's case study concludes at 8:30 p.m. On Monday evening, CampusMBA hosts a cocktail reception for you to meet your fellow classmates.

Successful Completion of Course I
Credit for Course I is earned when a student has attended all hours of classroom training and passed the comprehensive examination given at the end of the course.
Certification and Designation Credit
| Successful completion of this event will earn the participant 15 points toward the Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP) designation. SOMB Graduates receive this designation at the Course III graduation ceremony.
